Truer words were never spoken.

Weeb Eubank is a nearly forgotten man these days. (if you don't believe me, try finding a better picture on the Internets than the one I posted here.) He is the only coach to win a championship in the NFL, when he coached the Baltimore Colts, and in the AFL, when he coached the New York Jets. Even more, his Jets went into Super Bowl III and upset his old team the Colts, who were heavily favored.

Like most football coaches, he would give a pre-game speech, something to rally the troops, some last minute advice on what would be important that day.

"It's all fundamentals, men. We have to tackle and we have to block. We have to hit the receivers and we have to hit the holes. If we can control the line of scrimmage, we can win this game. I know you guys are ready for this, but that's all I've got to say.

"John, is there anything you'd like to add?"

Johnny Unitas, one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game and owner of history's greatest flat-top haircut EVAH, would always say the same thing when Weeb asked this question.

"Talk is cheap. Let's play football."

And tonight, the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints will lace 'em up and do just that.

And your father was right, DC. Just not that game and not that year.
