Secrets of the liberal icons... revealed!

I've only been a regular viewer of Keith Olbermann for a couple years, so I hadn't heard his December 7th version of Oddball before, where he marks the birth of Ted Knight, the actor who played the quintessential pompous buffoon Ted Baxter on The Mary Tyler Moore Show lo those many years ago. After acknowledging Knight's great work on that show and in other roles during his career, Olbermann admits that his "impression" of Bill O'Reilly is really an impression of Baxter, since both are pompous buffoons.

Much in the same way, Jon Stewart's "impression" of Dick Cheney is really an impression of Burgess Meredith as The Penguin. MMMMrraaah! MMMrrraaah!

As my father was fond of telling me, you learn something new every day. If you're not careful.
