Together again for the first time, here we have Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter, the Laurel and Hardy of this generation, with the only difference being that Laurel and Hardy were funny. I put these pictures together and reddened their eyes a little to show that Rush and Ann are upset. When aren't they upset? Good question. But right now, they are both upset about the same thing. The prospect of John McCain as the GOP candidate for president.
Rush devoted an entire show recently to trashing McCain. Coulter said she would campaign for Hillary if McCain becomes the Republican standard bearer. We are told these rich and successful people speak for millions, but just how small their audience is, or how much stock that audience puts in these blowhards, is being made clear at the polls. Barring an unforeseen political earthquake, McCain will win the GOP nomination, and these babbling babboons will be re-consigned to the political wilderness no matter who wins the presidency.
Maybe this is the crisis Newt Gingrich talked about when he said the party would come searching longingly for him. Gingrich is a point in between Limbaugh and Coulter, I suppose. Less fat than Rush, not as skinny as Ann, less funny than either of these monumentally unfunny people. Still, with all this unfunniness, I have only one comment on the train wreck on the other side of the aisle.
