Beaudelaire's La Géante, translated into lolz

Frightfully little of world poetry has been translated into lolz. Friend of the blog dguzman gave a pointer to Corprew Reed's effort in translating T.S. Eliot's The Wasteland into the language of lolz, and Ms. Guzman herself translated a poem of William Carlos Williams into lolz, with a bonus picture of Niblet, her adorable bun-bun.

Still, two poems in the ocean of poems. Mere drops in the bucket.

And so it falls to Matty Boy, 'splainer and arbiter of lolz and collector of French filth, to add his expertise to this field and translate a poem of Charles Baudelaire into lolz pictures with captions. Matty Boy has chosen La Géante, which translates into English as The Giantess. It comes from Beaudelaire's most famous collection Les Fleurs du Mal, which translates into lolz as Smutty Thotz. I Gotz Dem.

How did Matty Boy come to choose this particular poem to translate? Oh, please, hypothetical question asker, don't be naive.

Et grandir librement dans ses terribles jeux;

Aux humides brouillards qui nagent dans ses yeux;

Parcourir à loisir ses magnifiques formes;

My thanks to the collage artists whose work I defiled with captions, and to the site I Can Has Cheezburger, which provides lolz building software.

I can't remember who first showed me the lolz translation website, but it's certainly contributed to the wealth of our cultural zeitgeist.

and we're all so much richer fer it.
