Random 10 2/13

Love is a Stranger Eurythmics
Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody Louis Prima
Slow di Pupe Nino Rota
It Makes A Fellow Proud To Be A Soldier Tom Lehrer
Let's Call The Whole Thing Off Fred Astaire
You Can't Hurry Love Diana Ross & The Supremes
This Town... Elvis Costello
Way Down In The Hole Blind Boys of Alabama
Spanish Bombs The Clash
A New England Kirsty MacColl

Nine of ten from the You Tubes today, an excellent showing. The only thing missing is some incidental music by Nino Rota from The Temptation of Doctor Antonio, still the best giant woman movie ever made in my never humble opinion.

From before I was born, we get Fred Astaire and Louis Prima, from the sixties we get Nino Rota, Tom Lehrer and Miss Ross, there's four from the New Wave era and we have the Clarence Fountain lead the Blind Boys of Alabama in Way Down In The Hole, a song by Tom Waits that was the theme for The Wire, which is why I put up a picture of Michael K. Williams as Omar.

Did you know that Barack Obama's favorite TV show of all time is The Wire? Did you know his favorite character is Omar? For me, this is yet more proof that we have a smart president now, and not a moment too soon.

Don't walk under any ladders today, but if you see a friendly black cat, give him a little rub behind the ear. Black cats need love, too.
