This blog is still alive, just in semi-hibernation.
When I want to write something longer than a tweet about something other than math or sci-fi, here is where I'll write it.

Another silly thing to obsess over.
I do love the statistics connected to websites. These two pie charts show the percentages of countries of the last 100 visitors to Lotsa 'Splainin' at 6 am and 6 pm. Early in the morning, a little more than 30% of visitors are from the good old U.S. of A., as visitors from around the world show up while we Yanks are asleep. The second most popular country on the early morning list is Australia. Around dinner time, the American percent effectively doubles, and the second most common nation is Canada.
Those are fun statistics to keep track of, as is the Google PageRank, though it rarely changes. This morning, over at Princess Sparkle Pony, I was made aware for the first time of a website called Alexa, which keeps track of website popularity over time. They even have toolbar additions, like Sparky for Firefox. This cute little thing tells you how popular a website is up to the minute. For example, Lotsa 'Splainin' 2 Do is in the top five million most popular websites in the world, while Google is #1 and YouTube is #3. I blush to say it, but I have some naughty websites I visit, and their PageRanks on Google are incredibly weak, much lower than this blog.
Would you be surprised that more people visit a porn website than visit my site about math, lolz cats, left wing politics and Indira Varma?
No, I wouldn't be surprised, either. Alexa doesn't discriminate, so you can see how popular the websites you visit actually are.
It's kinda fun, in an addicting, useless sort of way.
