More wacky fun with the series of tubes.

These skinny guys with dark hair are Padre Mickey and Matty Boy back in the day. Yes, it's hard to believe now but there is independent verification from reliable sources, including The Lovely Mona, wife of Padre Mickey and the person who took this photograph.

This picture was on the cover of the debut EP of our band The Wonders Of Science, entitled The Record Of The Same Name. There were four songs, three written by yours truly, one by the Padre, a song The Wonders of Science covered from the Padre's earlier band Prolog.

The record flew off the shelves, selling literally dozens of copies to people whose last names weren't Hubbard or Dresbach. I don't have independent verification of these numbers. You'll just have to take my word for it.

Somehow, though The Wonders Of Science spent their entire career performing and recording in Silicon Valley with occasional trips to San Francisco, our music crossed the Atlantic and found fans in Europe. People have gone on the Interwebs and tracked down Padre Mickey or me and told us they liked our stuff. These fan e-mails have come from Sweden and Germany and Poland, among other places.

Go figure.

Now we have something like independent verification of the European sensation that is Wonders Of Science mania. A guy from Spain named redoalfo has put our song Let's Start A Rumour up on his channel on The You Tubes. The video is just a picture of a recording station. The sound quality is pretty good. It's been up for about two months and dozens of people have visited.

Yep. We still got it.

Since redoalfo was nice enough to share his copy of our song with the world, the least I can do is put up a link to his profile on YouTube. ¡Gracias, amigo! It was a very nice surprise to find a copy of this song, well over twenty five years old, up where the young people can find it.

Now why didn't I ever try to check this out, considering I've been reading you for more than a year.

That was really really catchy. :D

Padre Mickey in his youthful photo looks a little like the antichrist Malcolm McDowell character in The Clockwork Orange, but obviously his heart is far different!

Well it is good no one surnamed Hubbard bought the disks so we can be somewhat sure no Scientologists have an inside track on the Wonders of Science.

Did you play at The Edge and One Step Beyond?

I'm almost positive that I saw you guys here in The Valley.

Trinket: It's only been available for two months on the You Tubes, and I didn't know about it until last week!

Doc: Glad you liked it.

Margaret: He has a certain square jaw like MacDowell, but I've never seen him look really crazy.

David: My surname is Hubbard. Not all of us are on the L. Ron side of the fambly.

Padre: "Coldwave" is cool, but that's only for people who never saw us perform Automated Teller live.

Tengrain: We played a lot of clubs. Many of them closed soon after.

Old joke! But I'm an old guy, so I'm allowed.

Catchy song with a great beat! It reminds me a bit of Devo but better , of course.
Matty Boy, Many of Many Talents.

I am going to listen to the song and scream non-stop, just like a 1960s teenager listening to the Beatles!

Matty Boy, both of you are soooo good-looking. I'd be a tad doubtful that was El Padre on the left, but I know the Lovely Mona wouldn't lie. The music is good, too, but your fans were surely distracted by your handsomeness.
