Outdoor advertising works!

Today, we present compelling evidence that Rock F*#cking Stupidity is not just an American disease, but possibly a worldwide epidemic.

On the sides of buses in Great Britain this banner ad appeared recently proclaiming in all capital letters

Is this some advertising campaign by some retrograde Neanderthals like James Dobson's Focus On The Family trying to make inroads in the U.K. market? What product could they possibly be trying to sell with such a slogan?

Well, hypothetical question asker, it's a campaign designed to show the effectiveness of... outdoor advertising!

You see, conventional wisdom says outdoor advertising is a waste of time and background noise that no one actually reads. But in no time, these signs became a major controversy and the company was forced to suspend the campaign due to hundreds of complaints.

Good thinking, U.K. outdoor advertising industry! All those whiners probably aren't people who would be your clients anyway, just a bunch of, you know... career women.

Career women who might have risen far enough in the ranks to have a say as to whether their company will ever use... outdoor advertising.
